2015-08-05T21:52:20+00:00 I too am having this problem. I've run both the Trouble Shooter linked to from the Control Panel and the one downloaded as a cab file. They claim to have fixed some problems but one notes that there is a problem with update that cannot be fixed. I've looked into the WindowsUpdate.log file and found the text below. Notice the 404 on a Microsoft URL. Could this be a problem with the Microsoft servers?

2015-08-03T07:50:13+00:00 Hello
Many thanks for that but have tried it a few times. The last couple of tries it stated that "Service registration is missing or corrupt" had been fixed but still the error code 80244019 still appears when I attempt a manual update.
"Most recent check for updates" has now changed to never
"Updates were installed" has now changed to never
Any more suggestions.
John
