Since upgrading to Windows 8.1, system does not accept or recognize my Lexmark X1190 printer and cannot find compatible drivers. Has this printer become redundant for Windows 8?

Only Lexmark can supply drivers. If they don't have win 8 drivers, replace the printer. The compatibility center doesn't have any info on this model. See HERE

Hi mig63, well, waddaya know. Following your tip in that "only Lexmark can supply drivers", I Googled their support, got the drivers, selected my category and managed to finally download, and successfully install them: http://support.lexmark.com/index?page=productSelection&channel=supportAndDownloads&locale=EN&userlocale=EN_AU. This after months of struggling. So for the time being, I won't have to replace old faithful.

    Thanks for your great assistance.

    Nuff respect
