Original title: Software  not working

Hi,

I am really annoyed by this software named 'AVA.exe' i just recently dowloaded on my windows 8.1. It contains video lectures of my professor and theses videos are accessed only after I enter my ID and Password.

The problem is that, as soon as i login, I see the video list for about two seconds and then the entire application closes on its own. It doesnt remain open for more than 10 sec.s in total. what to do? I did a system restore to backdate 3 days ago, and then this problem was eliminated. But today its there again.

Have you tried right-clicking on the shortcut to the program, or the .exe, and selecting the "Run As Administrator" option?  Do so even if your user is an Admin.

After any uninstallation and before any reinstall try right-clicking on the actual Setup.exe and selecting the "Run As Administrator" option?  Do so even if your user is an Admin.

Do you have the same problem from within Safe Mode, and also if you try a Clean Boot?  Perhaps some security type program is interfering?  I don't know why it works for a couple of days, that is a bit strange.

    Hi Shawn,

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried a restore the other day and then today its again in the same position. The videos worked for a day and since yesterday the software is having the same issues. There was a window update prompt, but i didn't update. I hope there is a key to this.

If the program used to work and then quit, and especially since you fixed it with a restore, then it sounds like something is getting changed to break it.  I would restore again, then very carefully monitor for any prompts for updates (from that program, other ones, or even Windows) and see if you identify anything incoming.  If the problem comes back, you'll know exactly what the culprit was and we can figure out how to fix it.
