Hi , I have a server running Windows Server 2016 standard. . The server has the Essentials role also installed and remote desktop services. Wew have upgraded one of the applications that we use on the RDP. This third party app when run from the desktop of the RDP session is supposed to create a VPN connection when it is run. However when the application is started it fails with an error, The VPN connection does not get created. If I check the VPN connections in the network and sharing centre there is nothing there. If I try to create a VPN connection manually just using some basic settings it also does not show up under VPN in the network and sharing centre. When I look in the network adapters I can see the vpn connections I created however they all say Unavailable - Device missing. If I check Device manager, the miniport drivers are all installed. I have noticed that the Remote Access Connection manager service is not running and will not start when I try and start it. I think that the problem is because I cant create any VPN connections, but not sure what is causing the problem. Any help or advise would be appreciated. Thanks
