I upgraded to the window 10 tech preview from windows 7 and now my mouse and keyboard dont work once the os loads up and brings me to the sign in screen. I cant even roll back to windows 7 now because I have no mouse input except for when the bios splash screen is showing. Any help would be amazing thank you.

    Hi,

Glad to hear you got in anyway !!!

You might try Uninstalling the mouse\keyboard in Device Manager, unplug them, and then plug them back in... You might also try a reboot after Uninstalling them...

I have the same issue. I upgraded from Windows 7 pro to Windows 10 TP. Mouse and keyboard are working in BIOS, but do not work on selection (Windows 10 or Rollback) and later in Windows 10. Motherboard is Asus P8Z68-V LX, keyboard and mouse are USB. Luckly I found an old PS/2 mouse and it worked. So I could log in to windows and finish setup. It seems that Windows 10 couldn't find proper driver for my USB controller:

Asus support site didn't help. I dowloaded latest chipset drivers, installed them, but the picture didn't change. Device manager showed that installed driver is dated about 2000.

Luckly I was able to rollback upgrade (from boot screen) and successfully returned to Windows 7.

Update. When I tried to connect USB keyboard and pressed any key windows stopped working at all! I got still picture (PS/2 mouse stopped working either).

For the non working USB controllers, can you please go to the properties of the device and record the following:

    1. the device error code (Under "General" in the Device Status tab)
    2. The driver info (In the Driver tab)

    Thanks!

    UPDATE!!!

Tried everything I could think off to get the Mouse and Keyboard to work but still nothing. I have Teamviewer on all my devices so I connected with my computer (that works) to the computer with w10 on it. W10 had the sign in screen on so from my remote computer I logged into the W10 computer. I can control the W10 from the remote computer with Keyboard and Mouse, tried to reinstall drivers for M&K but keep on getting an error message. This is the message I get from the device manger:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

Insufficient system resources exist to complete the API.

    Hi,

Could you please provide some additional detail on your device:

    1. A screenshot of device manager
    2. The hardware ID of the device
    3. A screen shot of the drivers tab for the device
    4. The make/model of your system

    Thanks!
