I cant even roll back to windows 7 now because I have no mouse input except for when the bios splash screen is showing. Any help would be amazing thank you.

2016-07-29T19:34:22+00:00 For my ASUS FX990 Sabertooth I disabled everything at start up. I used MSCONFIG to turn off any service that were not MS related software and turned off every single program that loads at start say for malwarebytes and anti-virus. I then cloned my drive using Reflect and then authorized the update. With all the ASUS **** turned off the system, thus far, upgraged, and updated without a repeat of the dead USB ports.
Now my main system, my Intel Core I5 was an entirely different story. First it upgraded WITHOUT PERMISSION. Thank you MS for that. Of course, upon upgrade all USB ports died. I had to use PS2 keyboard to activate Speccy and get the product key. I then made an ISO of windows 10 and, mainly because I could not roll back to Windows 7 pro due to issues caused by windows 10 upgrade, did a fresh install of windows 10. ALL OF MY FILES related to installed applications were lost. Years of data gone. Two full days of productivity gone. The cost of this unauthorized upgrade is sickening. I figure that the $$ loss to me exceeds a few grand. I am heart sick over the issue.
But after doing the clean install of windows 10, the USB ports began to work. Even MS tech support could not help.
NOTE TO MICROSOFT - With all the phone and email scams coming out of INDIA related to "tech support" you might not want to EMPLOY the same f****ers to do your tech support. Just say'n trust is an issue.

2016-07-30T03:12:37+00:00 This is what worked for me. Unplug all devices and printers plugged in to any USB port. Turn on your computer and wait for it to go as far as it will. Either the welcome screen or the desktop page. Once it's running for a few minutes plug each device in and let the computer identify and install each one. I was up all night last night freaking out about this. I happened upon this fix. I'm running a Dell and had a Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard. Hope this helps someone.

2016-08-06T00:07:17+00:00 At least a couple of us were able to solve this ASUS MB related problem by removing a little ASUS utility. This is what I posted back in January, maybe it will help you:
For those of you with ASUS motherboards the problem with the Windows 10 upgrade causing your once working USB ports to stop working has nothing to do with the USB drivers and everything to do with a little ASUS utility that is part of their AI Suite II called "AI Charger+". Its purpose is to boost the power to the USB ports so your devices (iPads etc.) can charge faster. It turns out THIS app is the culprit. If you remove it your USB ports will work and you'll finally be able to login to your new Windows 10 system.
You remove the app by first selecting to uninstall the AI Suite II software. This will bring up a dialog with a list of all the AI Suite II apps. You ONLY need to select the AI Charger+ to be removed.
You can either remove the AI Charger+ app before you do the upgrade, or after a roll-back to the previous OS - or remove the app from Windows 10 via a remote access program like Teamviewer. After the app is removed, reboot and watch you keyboard led light up!
This solution worked for me on my Asus P8Z68-V Pro motherboard - none of the USB ports worked so no keyboard and mouse to login to Windows 10. It seems there is just one guy in the entire Internet that knew the solution and I found it on TenForums.com. http://www.tenforums.com/drivers-hardware/10414-ubs2-ubs3-host-controller-code48-after-first-reboot-2.html?s=b47c640c4d1f35917934676a826e6344#post355637
Uninstalling the Asus "AI Charger+" app provided with my Asus P8Z68-V Pro motherboard using Teamviewer, as described by Gary Hoyer in his reply to Sagan, solved the problem for me.
I performed the Asus "AI Charger+" uninstall using Teamviewer after the upgrade from Win 7 to 10, and I was lucky to find this solution, so I didn't have to roll-back the upgrade.
So there's no need to roll-back and perform the Windows 10 upgrade again! Just find another way to get in contact with you computer: remote access program, PS/2 keyboard & mouse, add a USB PCI or PCIe expansion card, or something similar. It should be possible to remove the conflicting sw in Safe mode.
I searched for "USB mouse and keyboard not working afterwindo ws 10 upgrade" after having tried using a Logitech Cordless keyboard and mouse, a cabled Lenovo USB keyboard and a cabled Microsoft mouse, and trying out both the USB2 and the USB3 ports on the motherboard. All of them working in the BIOS, but after booting Windows 10 there was absolutely no response at the Windows 10 login screen.
Using Teamviewer I could see a warning on the USB Controllers in the Windows 10 Device Manager (when I was checking for a possible driver upgrade.).
I haven't experienced any problems with the Asus "AI Charger+" for 5 years under Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. So the question is: What changes has Microsoft introduced in the device drivers from Windows 7 to Windows 10?
Searching again including "AI Charger+" on the Microsoft Community I found two posts by Richard Pullan dated August 10 and 14 2015, where it becomes clear that the problem wasn't in the original Windows 10 but it seems like it has been introduced by one or more KB updates provided by Microsoft (as specified by Richard Pullan in this thread: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-update/windows-10-usb-devices-not-working-after/5fee6184-691a-4a29-9760-cee8e3a65864
Now I will also report the issue to Asus on their support forum, because a lot of their customers might experience this problem, - and it might also be helpfull to report it on the Logitech support forum (because a lot of their customers will be searching the Logitech support forum having problems with their Logitech keyboard and mouse).
The problem has been known by Microsoft for almost a year - since august 2015, and I think that this should have been enough time for Microsoft to find a solution in cooperation with Asus.
It has been working for many years in Windows 7, and it's Microsoft which have been pushing their customers to upgrade to Windows 10. So not handling the issue for almost a year is extremely bad Customer Service.
