I upgraded to the window 10 tech preview from windows 7 and now my mouse and keyboard dont work once the os loads up and brings me to the sign in screen. I cant even roll back to windows 7 now because I have no mouse input except for when the bios splash screen is showing. Any help would be amazing thank you.

This happened to me randomly.  Had Windows 10 for about 6 months and everything was fine.  Restarted my computer one day & my USB keyboard + mouse stopped responding at the Windows 10 login screen.  I read forums & tried a variety of things without success (restarting a tonne of times, waiting longer, entering safe mode ... but keyboard/mouse wasn't working in there either).

The keyboard/mouse responds when the computer just starts up, so I entered BIOS & messed around with the USB settings one by one.  Eventually I played around with "Intel xHCI Mode" under advanced USB settings.  It was on "Smart Auto" and I switched it to "Disabled".  This did the trick - keyboard & mouse worked at the login screen.

Out of curiosity, I went back into BIOS and switched "Intel xHCI Mode" back to "Smart Auto", the same issue occurred.

Now it's permanently on "Disabled" and everything is OK *touches wood*

    Hope this helps for you,

    RoNi

no I did not find this helpful at all, in fact I don't find a lot of your input at all helpful, its too techie.

I have got a hID compliant mouse and keyboard you know the one that works from a flash drive imput or wirless, since the last 1607 win 10 download you have left me with just the onboard keyboard working and my hid compliant keyboard but no mouse so I cant right click bloody anything I WANT MY MOUSE BACK NOW
