OT: update failures.

Can't seem to get updates

windows 8.1   32

error code 800700C1

Update troubleshooter does not help

Any advice will be appreciated

 There was no corruption detected.

Still can't get updates

Method 1: Reset the Windows Update components and check if it helps.

Method 2: Place the computer in a clean boot state and install Windows Updates to check if there are any software conflicts.

    Fix Windows corruption errors by using the DISM or System Update Readiness tool

    Check logs for corruption errors:

    DISM creates a log file (%windir%/Logs/CBS/CBS.log) that captures any issues that the tool found or fixed. %windir% is the folder in which Windows is installed. For example, the %windir% folder is C:\Windows.
