Cannot send emails with Windows Live Mail

My WLM has been working fine but all of a sudden it has stopped sending any emails.  I can receive them no problem, just cannot send.  I work for myself and this is not good!  Tried calling their help desk and received a very rude lady who said they no longer provide support for WLM which is great.

Please can somebody help with a simple solution?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Noel,

thanks for the reply, I seem to have solved it by making my outgoing server require authentication, same as incoming.  I can send again which is a relief.  The error message was 530, requires authentication, although I had never had to do this before but I take my laptop away for work with me and I think for some reason using other wifi connections had muddled it.

Anyway, thank you for taking the time to reply.

RM

    Hi Pranav,

thank you for the reply, I seem to have solved the issue by making my outgoing server require authentication too.  It is working again now.

Thanks for trying to help though.

Cannot send emails with Windows Live Mail

    What happens when you try?

Windows Live Mail will normally display an error message if a message can't be sent; you can click on an error message to select it, then use right-click to copy it and paste it into your reply here. This is the only way to get the information we need to be able to troubleshoot your problem.

Please don't do anything with files in your store folder as suggested by Pranav until we've seen the error message.
