WSUS upstream and down stream server sync

Dear Support,

i have bit confusion even gone through multiple articles, i hope you will clarify my doubts....

we have one upstream server and 3 down stream server at multiple site...wit server 2016 os..

we are using replica mode...

so i have run each site GPO and set each site down stream server so my all computers reported respectively site down stream server..

now as when i see in upstream server i get option to approve the patches but its asking as usual to select computer but in my up stream server there is no computer as all computer reporting to site down stream server

so my question is how do i approve the patches

please advise...

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.
    A WSUS server running in replica mode inherits the update approvals and computer groups created on an administration server.
    If our WSUS server is running in replica mode, we will inherit the computer groups that you created on the upstream server. However, the computer groups will be empty. We must then assign the client computers that connect to the down stream server to the computer groups.
    So we just need to create some empty computer groups on upstream server, then approve the patches for the empty computer groups.
