I can imagine the inconvenience you are experiencing and will certainly help you in the right direction to fix the issue.
This error used to occur with Windows XP systems during Office 2000 installation when the system date on the computer is set incorrectly. Other probable reasons include remnants of the uninstalled programs that hinder uninstall of some programs.
In order to diagnose and troubleshoot the issue, I would suggest you to try the following methods and check if the issue persists.
Method 1:
Check the Date & Time Zone is correct or not. Follow these steps to set the time.
- Double Click on the current time on the bottom right hand corner of your screen.
- Then click Change date and time settings, then click the Change time zone button
- Select your time zone and tick automatically adjust clock for daylight saving time and press OK.
- Then press Apply, and OK.
Try uninstalling listed the programs and check if the issue is reproduced. If the issue still exists, try the next method.
Method 2:
Run the following fixit and check if it helps.
***Fix problems that programs cannot be installed or uninstalled***
Try uninstalling the programs having run the above fixit. If the issue still exists, try the next method.
Method 3:
I would suggest you to stop and start the Windows Installer Service. Check if it helps.
a) Press Windows Key + XKey on desktop.
b) Select Run from the list.
c) Type services.msc in the search box and press Enter.
d) Double-click” Windows Installer" in the Services list.
e) Right Click and select Stop.
f) Restart the computer, repeat the steps a), b), c) and d).
g) Right Clic k and select Start.
h) Restart the computer.
