Hello Microsoft Support,

I am facing a problem with Media Creation Tool. It was downloaded from Microsoft website:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

I have done the clean boot in Windows as you have suggested but the Media Creation Tool is not showing the languages. I am running Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit.

Please assist.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

As per the description, I understand that you are facing issues with using media creation tool.

This might have occurred whether it is not installed properly or may be due to some third party application conflicts.

I would suggest you to again download the windows installation media creation tool again and check if you are facing the same issue.

For more information you can refer to the below link:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

If issue persist, then download Windows 8.1 ISO or create media.

Follow the link below to create media:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

Before downloading the tool I would suggest you to temporarily disable the antivirus security software program installed on your computer and check.

Disclaimer: Antivirus software helps protecting your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software and\or troubleshoot any pertinent issue, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you are connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to malware attacks.

Hope this helps. Please let us know the results. We will be glad to assist you further.

I experienced this problem too. I'm using Windows 7 Professional. When I clicked the drop-down for language selection, there was just no response.

What worked for me was disabling UAC, restarting and trying again. Problem solved, and I was able to continue with my media creation.

My antivirus, antimalware or firewall or any 3rd-party program were in no way involved in causing this problem.

On my laptop the reason was an unreachable proxy in IE - check that and possibly remove the proxy settings.

Of course Microsoft programmers choose the only valid method of error handling - say nothing. Leave the List empty, we don't want to confuse the user by unneccessary information that might help him solve the problem.

And here you get non-sense default answers. Probably by some answerbot who never read your message in the first place.

If it wasn't for the occasional game or the laptops of my children I would have ended using Redmond Crapware long time ago. Luckily I am not plagued by this at work (UX only).
