Original title: Microsoft Account

I have a new Dell laptop, purchased about 2 months ago.  I have NEVER been able to access the apps.  After supplying my user i.d. and password twice, I have to supply the email address yet again, and am then told I will be sent a code to use.  I have thus far collected *13* codes.  I get one of two messages: either "that code didn't work"  or "the service isn't available right now - please try again later."  WHY didn't that code work??? It's the one you sent me!  WHEN is "later"??  How many years??  This is disgusting; can any human help me, please?  Thanks!

Hi Marelyn,

I apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. I appreciate your efforts towards resolving the issue, I will certainly help you with the issue.

Let me ask you;

  • Did you try to remove the pin password from your Microsoft account?

I would suggest you to try to log in with Microsoft account through the web and check you are able to log in.

Method 1: Log in to your Microsoft account

Visit login.live.com and try to sign in with your Microsoft user Id and password. If you are unable to log in there, enable two-step verification.

To Enable two-step verification

  1. Go to https://account.live.com/proofs/Manage and make sure that you've added an alternate e-mail address and provided a phone number (preferably your mobile number so it can receive SMS messages) to your Microsoft account.
  2. Click on the "Set up two-step verification" link.
  3. Follow the setup process until you reach the end, then click "Done." You may be asked to provide a verification code, sent to either your phone via SMS or to your alternate e-mail address, before you can complete the two-step setup. Once it's complete, you should receive an e-mail confirmation from Microsoft sent to your alternate e-mail address.

If the issue persists, follow method 2.

Method 2: Disable Anti-virus

Temporarily disable the Anti-Virus and check if that helps.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Please follow the steps in the given links below if you have a password issue on the website, this should help.

Get back into your Microsoft account if it's been blocked or hacked

Hope this information is helpful. If the issue still persists, please post back for further assistance, we'll be glad to assist you.

Thank you
