Analyse setupapi.dev.log file in Windows 8

Hi all..

I have already asked my doubts on analyzing setupapi.dev.log file in Windows 7 and I have found answers to my question through the community.

Here my question is from Windows 8.

Following are identifiers from the file. Can anyone help me figure out what each term stands for?

  1. [Device Install (Hardware initiated) - ROOT\NET\0000]
  2. [Device Install (Hardware initiated) - SW{cfd669f1-9bc2-11d0-8299-0000f822fe8a}{0A4252A0-7E70-11D0-A5D6-28DB04C10000}]
  3. [Setup online Device Install (Hardware initiated) - root\ms_ndiswanipv6\0000]

As far as I understood, the file stores information regarding a device when it was first installed on the system. In Windows 7, I have seen identifiers like "usb\vid_8087&pid_0024\5&225f8902&0&1" and I could understand that it is an USB device. But what about the identifiers provided above?

Also "[Device Install (Hardware initiated) - SWD\WPDBUSENUM\_??_USBSTOR#Disk&Ven_hp&Prod_v220w&Rev_1100#1406033570007387&0#{53f56307-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b}]" is the identifier of the only session regarding the installation of a HP flash drive in Windows 8. I had four sessions for the same device when it was installed in Windows 7 and I was able to get Vendor ID, product ID, etc from those. Will I be able to get these details in a Windows 8 system?

Thank You.
