Hi,

I am about to build a SharePoint 2019 farm for my client. I was just thinking about how many licenses they need

They have around 100 internal users and they have an intranet and a public-facing site with annonymous access and they may have FBA authentication also.

Please correct me if I am wrong

1) They need server licenses

2) 100 CAL for 100 internal users

3) No license for internet users ( annonymous access )

4) Do they need any license for external users with FBA authentication?

Thanks

For #4, if they are employees, contractors, or otherwise employed by the company, they must be licensed.

You will certainly need #1 with either a Standard or Enterprise license. For #2, you will need Standard (if SharePoint Standard) or Standard+Enterprise (if SharePoint Enterprise). #3 is correct.

    See https://www.microsoft.com/licensing/terms/productoffering/SharePointServer/EAEAS

Pick your licensing type on that page to get Use Rights etc.

I strongly suggest you work with your Microsoft or VAR licensing team rather than relying on forum posts :-)

    Hi anonymous user ,

As trevorseward suggested, you could consult your Microsoft or VAR licensing team, I believe they will provide you with more professional advice.
