Hi,

In Windows 8.1 Pro, I no longer have entries in the Date Modified and Type Columns in the Program and Features.  I followed directions for using sfc, and restarted in safe mode, but the entries are still missing.

Any other ideas to correct this?

thank you,

Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.

This issue might be occurred due to incorrect setting of program and feature.

I suggest you to follow some steps to fix issue.

    1. Go to Control Panel then click on program and feature.
    2. Here you will see name of program column so here you need to right click on Name column then you will get one popup window in that you need to check box installed on

So that you will get the date in which you installed that program.

Also I would suggest you to check those entries with another user account.

Try these steps and check whether the issue persist.

I hope this information will help.

Please reply with the status of the issue so that we can help you better.

    Thanks.

    Found the answer here: https://superuser.com/questions/738625/the-date-modified-column-in-programs-and-features-window-is-empty.

Worked for me like a charm! Really stupid, but it works :)

I am finding a similar situation on my PC.  Except the "Date modified" column is there.  It's just blank for all the applications.  I installed several different, but similar applications yesterday.  Some of them had what I refer to as "piggybackware" (although I was careful, but I suppose that is another story).  So, my natural response was to do to my Control Panel and sort by Date modified.  So, this is a real inconvenience.  Any thoughts?

    Thank you.

I do have the "date installed" date. Just not the modified or type. Though when I logged in as another user the "date modified" column isn't an option.  Strange.  So maybe you are correct that that and the 'type' category don't exist?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

    Thank you for replying.

I want to inform you Date Modified **** Type Category doesn't exist.

This Program and feature window only show you how many programs you have installed and at which date you have installed.

You can just see date you can't modify it.

I hope this information will help.

    Thanks.
