Thanks. When I am at WLM and press Alt-F B I get “Version 011 (Build 15.4.3555.0308).
But for reasons explained here and threshold questions still not answered I'd no dare proceed.
“Users experienced problems with pasting hyperlinks into message compose windows after installing Internet Explorer 11.”
I do have IE 11 but perhaps you did not read my reply to you.
First, is that after they install the newest WLM?
Second, as I said, I use Firefox. Does that matter?
“The cure is either uninstall IE11 and revert to the prior version (not recommended)”
I don't even think I have a prior version.
“or apply the registry change below that causes Windows Live Mail to use IE11 standards instead of its default IE8 standards.”
Total Greek to me. When we are now getting into upgrading and installing WLM (still not clarified) and then tinkering with the registry. Waaaaaaay beyond what I think anyone can expect from an average user. I already have a career. All this just to copy
and paste hyperlinks? This is FAR too complicated and rather risky. No way I'd attempt it.
“Windows Live Mail makes extensive use of some Writer functions when composing messages, so it's as well to install it at the same time.”
My life is complicated enough. One word processing program is all I want.
“You access the calendar in Windows Live Mail by...”
Thanks, I now realize I did see that before and it's functions are so limited I regarded it asuseless.
Aside from all this please notice that my first questions have not been answered as to how to install the new WLM and how that effects my existing email accounts or my storage folders. A threshold issue.
Nor does it answer my question about the sign-in button.
So with so many questions still not answered, and the additions of very technical tinkering with the registry, all this leaves me far too confused, in a far too risky and far too complicated process, and all this just to copy and paste hyperlinks. Thanks but
I would not even dare proceed on the information I have. Far too complicated. Far too unclear? Far too risky.
