Touch screen function and task bar auto-hide functionality

Good day, I hope all is well.

I am a Surface Pro 3 user with Windows 8.1.

I currently have the auto-hide task bar feature enabled on my unit. I believe it works very well. However, there is one concern. When I use my unit as a tablet, I cannot recover the task bar using the touch screen and finger. I can only make it work with the use of the touch pen (and that takes about 4 or 5 tries). I've ensured my touch screen setting are properly configured with no resolve.

I'd like to know if this is normal with the Pro 3, are my settings wrong, or do I have a defective unit?

Thank you for your assistance and I look forward to your reply.

I have an HP TouchSmart 23 desktop. If I set the taskbar to auto-hide. Swipe from the bottom does not show the Task Bar, so it might be a Windows gesture thing.

I've had a Surface RT, Surface Pro, Surface 2 and now a Surface Pro 3. It's hard to get the hidden task bar to show with touch only. I just keep poking with my finger until I accidently get it right and it shows. If it really bothers you, I suggest not hiding the task bar.

I have an MSI touch AIO in my living room with Windows 10. Because of the way the frame of the screen is made, not only can't I get the hidden task bar to show, I can't properly swipe from the edge to gesture. At least the Surface was designed to handle swiping in and out for gesturing.

The old joke goes, "Doctor, it really hurts when I raise up my left arm." The doctor replies, "Don't do that, it hurts."

    Bye.
