Hi guys,

I have a problem related to display drivers.Yesterday I updated the windows and this happened.

This is dxdiag

Guys, Please help me. I tried to do system restore. But there weren't any restore points.

I have been trying to get the updated version of Intel HD graphics driver for my laptop, but I couldn't find them anywhere and I read that my laptop doesn't accept generic versions.

Laptop: Sony Vaio SVE14A15FN

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

    Hi Kishore,

Thank you for providing us the opportunity to assist you.

As per the issue description you are unable to install/update the display drivers. If you are facing issue with installing display drivers then there might be a chance that some third party application/services is restricting it to get installed. There might be a chance that some security software (if installed) may restrict it to get installed.

If you are getting an error code 52 while installing drivers then it could come if Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source.

I would suggest you to try the steps provided below and see if it helps you to fix the issue.

Step 1: Disable security software temporarily.

You may refer to the steps provided in the article mentioned below to disable security software temporarily.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Disable-antivirus-software

NoteAntivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Step 2 : Perform clean boot.

Putting your system in Clean Boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue. You need to follow the steps from the article mentioned below to perform a Clean Boot.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135/en-us

Note: Refer "How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting" to reset the computer to start as normal after troubleshooting.

    Step 3

Now try to install the Display drivers from the **manufacturer's website (SONY VAIO)**and see if it get installed and your issue get fixed or not.

Please do let us know the results. Feel free to write us back for any further assistance with Windows, we'll be glad to assist you.

    Regards,

Also, can you check the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}

At that registry key, in the right window, is there, under "Name", either an UpperFilters or LowerFilters value?

If so, for each of the UpperFilters and/or LowerFilters value, what is listed under "Data"?

the problem's been solved. I just uninstalled the display drivers i.e using DDU in the safe mode.

and installed the driver from leshcatlabs.net since my laptop doesn't accept generic drivers.
