Yet again "Code 52" driver error. On update from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1

Hello,

I've updated from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 Pro and my mouse stopped working. It is Microsoft Mobile Wireless Mouse 1000. My notebook is Lenovo x230. All updates are set up as per now (11 of May, 2015) from Windows Update center (with the mouse plugged in) and from Lenovo Center. The device manager shows the errors as per the image attached.

The error for Mouse Hardware USB Mouse:

Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)

Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center 2.3.188 states: "No Device Detected". It was installed to fix the problem.

Registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class{36fc9e60-c465-11cf-8056-444553540000} does not have any UpperFilter or LowerFilter values.

How to fix it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Not sure you have tried this but, in the Device Manager, right-click each device showing the error and choose "Uninstall".

    If given the choice to "Delete the driver software for this device" choose that also.

    Proceed with the uninstall for each device, restart the computer, and let Windows redetect and reinstall each device.

    Didn't help:

    1. Created restore point
    2. Removed the values from UpperFilters:
    3. Rebooted. The same error as above

    (3. Tried to uninstall drivers and install again.

    1. Tried to reinstall the updates from the Windows Update.

    The problem remains:

    Can you remove the SynTP and vmkbd values :

    At the first registry key double-click UpperFilters and remove SynTP andvmkbd(leave kbdclass) > OK

    Create a System Restore Point beforehand and restart the computer afterward.

    SynTP is from Synaptics and vmkbd is from VMware so check that you have the most recent version of the Synaptics driver and, if using VMware program, make sure it is compatible with Windows 8.1.

    Can you check the following registry key?:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class{4d36e96b-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}

    At that registry key, in the right window, is there, under "Name", either an UpperFilters or LowerFilters value?

    If so, for each of the UpperFilters and/or LowerFilters value, what is listed under "Data"?

    Can you also check the following registry key?:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class{4d36e96f-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}

    At that registry key, in the right window, is there, under "Name", either an UpperFilters or LowerFilters value?

    If so, for each of the UpperFilters and/or LowerFilters value, what is listed under "Data"?
