Windows 8.1 error code 0x00000005

On Friday everything was working well. I was printing on a shared printer on another computer with out any troubles. On Monday (with nothing changing in between) suddenly I can not print on the shared printer. I keep getting error 0x00000005.  When asked to enter the other computers user name and password I enter these but it keeps saying that these are incorrect, we have verified these 5 times and tried it 5 times but still no luck. It worked fine on Friday so why does it suddenly now need this information. We have 5 computers on the  network all running the same version of Windows and mine is the only one with this problem.

    Hi Jaques,

    Sorry for the delayed response.

How many computers are being shared with the Printer?

I suggest you to follow the steps on the primary computer where the Printer is being shared on the network.

    1. Go to Control Panel.
    2. Select Hardware devices and Printers.
    3. Right click on the Printer device and select Printer Properties.
    4. Under the Sharing tab, ensure that the 'Share this printer' option is selected.
    5. Apply changes and check if the issue persists.

Please reply with the results. We will continue to assist you further.

    Thank you for your reply.

In answer to your questions, a) no we did not make any changes to either computor

    b) its only one computor that no longer working.

I ran the test and it does not show the other printer at all, though if I go to my network page the printer is visible there.
