Dynamic CPU frequency is not working

this issue started about 2-3 days ago, after some blue screens with the code "DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION"

In normal conditions, when i select the energy plan "power saver" the speed of the CPU used to go down to 0.77Ghz when i just had chrome and a music app running. With the "balanced" power plan, i used to run games, and the speed of the CPU used to go up to 3.2Ghz, and sometimes with other programs the cpu was running at 2.49Ghz or something like that.

but i have noticed after some of these blue screens, the dynamic frecuency of the cpu is not working anymore, no matter if i select "power saver" and open just a browser or select the "high performance" and run a videogame, the CPU frecuency just stays in 2.49Ghz, no matter what.

any suggestion to solve this problem?

    Hi,

    Thank you for replying,

I would suggest you not to do a Factory reset. This will result you in losing your personal information and applications which is installed on your computer.

Also we cannot assure that you will not face this issue again.

We apologize for the unhandiness caused to you and we will make sure you get a proper solution. I request you to provide us the Dump Files so that we can work on this issue.

    Thank you.

    hi

    here is the information:

1.-no i did not make any changes in hardware or windows configurations before the problem (neither in the BIOS).

2.- yes, i tried removing all external devices, also unplug the charger and the problem persisted

    additional:

-After posting this question, i noticed that windows was only detecting 2 cores and 4 logical procesors, instead of 4 cores and 8 logical procesors as it should be, after that i tried to activate the cores in "msconfig" but it also only detected 4 cores.

-after i noticed the previous information, i restored windows to its out-of-box state and the problem was solved, but for me, this seems like a temporary solution, i will keep an eye if the problem comes back and if that happens, try to post some more information about.

    resuming:

a solution is return windows to the factory defaults using the recovery tool, but this solution could be temporary.
