Problem with x64 Updates

1. Since upgrading from IE 9 to IE11, a new Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB3034344) always fails; despite repeatedly arising with different extension codes over many months, so I move each new one to Hidden Updates.

2. Some Updates (non x64) are shown as Successful among the failed x64 updates in Update History. However, they are no longer listed in Installed Updates, the last entry being 16 June.

3. The following extract from Mouneshwar R to remove the Update History worked several times, but no longer has any effect.

b. Copy/paste the below command:

c. net stop wuauserv

d. And select OK.

e. Wait until confirmation that the service is stopped.

f. To delete the file, copy the following command in the command prompt:

g. del %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore\Logs\edb.log

4. I have no other problems with my excellent HP desktop computer and Kaspersky Internet Security and am awaiting download of Windows 10, but with with some reservations.

My question to Microsoft is:

Will the download issue be resolved with upgrade from Windows 7 x64, as all the failed updates are x64 – or are there likely to be further Update problems with the Windows 10 upgrade?

Please try #3 & #4 again. If ALL of the updates are NOT listed in Installed Updates(not Update History), tell me which, if any, ARE listed.

When (exact date) was Internet Explorer 11 [sic] installed according to Installed Updates (not Update History)?

May I assume that neither IE11 nor IE10 was ever offered to your computer via Windows Update?

[I'll have many more questions in my next reply!]
