Disc Image Burner ... Missing!?

Anyone know how to access Disc Image Burner & use to burn ISO file?

Appears to be totally missing ... not dis-associated - there's no program associated with .iso filetype

Windows Search finds nothing!

Review of programs associated with filetypes shows nothing

Search for fixes on Microsoft.com is of no use**

Lots & lots of ambiguous, irrelevant and misleading instructions at Microsoft.com and elsewhere

... and more Failed instructions than anyone could [or would] wish for ...

  • Right click & select Burn (that Option never shows!)
  • Double-Click on file  (Nope - Windows demands selecting a program to "open" the file)
  • Select "Manage / Burn ISO" at Explorer window (Great! ... so where's that [missing]"Manage" option again?)
  • Drag & Drop onto Optical drive .... Not hardly!

Appreciate any relevant & helpful suggestions******* And, for the record, I have recently run SFC /Scannow

** One entry enticingly entitled ISO burner missing [aha!] - however proffered fix immediately devolved to "burning files fromMedia Player**"   .....  an ISO file from Media Player?   What the ...??

*** Please, please, please ... No all-purpose, off-the-cufftime wasters, personal favorite fixes, or M$ boilerplate troubleshooting "fixes"

You all know what I mean:

"have you scanned for viruses?"  "have you installed any new programs or devices?"  "have youever changed anything on your computer?"  "how about overhauling Windows 8.1 OS via repair, restore or re-install?"  etc. etc. yada, yada

    Hi sookie,

probably you found the solution already, but as I was searching for the same I just add my findings here.

I could as well not burn a DVD-image via right-click, as I was used to from Win7. However, when I select the *.iso in Windows Explorer, an additional menu gets available (like in MS Office when you select an image in your document), which allows to burn the image...

Hope this helps another one searching the internet for this topic...
