Message list text format?

I just installed Windows Live Mail on my new laptop.  It works OK, but I am having a problem with the message list as shown below.  Each e-mail in my message list is "cut off" so that I can only see half the subject line of every e-mail.  If I just hover over the e-mail, the Live Mail is devoting a rectangle for each e-mail (bottom e-mail, light blue rectangle), but within the rectangle the text is simply not centered properly.  How do I fix this?  Thanks.

You probably have a high-definition screen (bigger than FD). This method of displaying the message list was probably coded before such monitors existed, so some dimensions have been hard-coded into the program. No-one has come up with a solution yet - adjusting the screen DPI upwards has too many negative effects elsewhere for it to be usable.

If this is your situation, the workaround is to select One-line view under Message list on the View tab.

I would have preferred the two line view :(

You have so much more flexibility with the table layout (one-line view). You can select which columns to display and sort by any field. In long and complex conversations, you can get a threaded view of sorts. Learn to live with it and I'm sure you'll eventually come to love it ;)

Thanks for your help and taking the time to answer.

Happy to be able to help.

Yes, you are correct.  The new laptop has a 3200x1800 screen.  I switched to one line view, and that seems to work, although I would have preferred the two line view :(  Thanks for your help and taking the time to answer.
