Do you know what benefits the task SCHEDULER entry called IPAddressConflict1 (and -2) provides in the event of an IP address conflict?

I guess you are after a bit more detail than this, but from ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/939039 ) -

IpAddressConflict1 Tcpip This scheduled task runs the rundll32 ndfapi.dll,NdfRunDllDuplicateIPOffendingSystemcommand when an event 4198 message is detected. This scheduled task informs the user of an IP address conflict.
IpAddressConfilct2 Tcpip This scheduled task runs the runddl32 ndfapi.dll,NdfRunDllDuplicateIPDefendingSystemcommand when an event 4199 message is detected. This scheduled task informs the user of an IP address conflict.

    Which is a vista article.

    Similar here for W7 - https://chentiangemalc.wordpress.com/2011/05/08/windows-7-default-scheduled-taskscomplete-overview/

Something to work on until a more detailed reply anyway.
