Cannot Purchase Apps in Windows Store - Error Code 0x8086000c

I am unable to obtain any apps from the Windows store.   When I attempt to add a new app, I get a message that says "Your purchase couldn't be completed." along with the error code 0x8086000c .

I have tried all of the steps in a recent post by John Nowak (1/14/15) and none of those steps solved my problem.  His error code was different (0x80072ee2), but the symptoms seemed similar.

When I click on My Account in the Windows Store, at top left of screen it says "Sign Into Windows Store".  -  When I click on the "Sign In" button, the green circle in middle of the screen goes around for about 1 second and then returns to the original screen (Sign Into Windows Store).

I am using Windows 8.1 and am signed in as Administrator. (I'm the only one that uses this computer.)

It seems accessing the Windows Store should not be this difficult.  I would appreciate any help in resolving this problem.

    Kapil,

I just re-ran the apps Diagnostics program and I see some error messages, as follows:

Windows Store Cache may be damaged -  Not Fixed

Windows Store Configuration may be damaged -  Detected

Display Adapter Drivers might be out of date -  Detected

Service Registration is missing or corrupt - Fixed

The items that are indicated as "detected" above have yellow triangle with exclamation mark; I had updated the display adapter drivers earlier....

Please let me know what to do to resolve this problem.  Thanks again.

    Dave

    Kapil,

Thanks for your reply.   I did everything in the link you provided above;  diagnostic app - which didn't show anything.   - DOS commands as listed.   And I made sure all Windows updates have been installed.  None of these steps solved the problem.

I added another Administrator/user account and I was able to access the Windows Store with that account and add applications from it.  However it appears that the original account and the new account are 2 separate computer users that do not share the same applications and data.  This will not work for me as I need to be in my original user account to access all my data & applications.   So, Knowing what I've been able to accomplish via new admin acct., what can I do to make my original account utilize the Windows Store.   Thanks for your further help with my situation.

    Dave

    Hello,

Please refer following fix and see if it helps you:

    http://www.kapilarya.com/something-happened-and-your-purchase-cant-be-completed

If you're not able to open Store, create a new admin account and see if store works on that.

Hope this helps, Good luck :)
