WerFault.exe HELP!

Hi everyone,

So I was recently trying to update my gpu because Sony Vegas was acting up. I uninstalled and reinstalled Vegas a few times and not much happened. I downloaded " Driver Navigation" to update things and then I started getting this WerFault.exe popup. I didn't think much and hoped maybe a reboot would work and upon rebooting none of my programs started up, not even my antivirus software. I've been trying to figure things out for hours and kinda just losing it a bit .Hope someone can help in anyway. I can't open most programs and am currently looking through event viewer to find something wrong.

Any help is greatly appreciated,

Jordan

Hi Jordan,

It’s the Windows Error Reporting system that helps sending errors logs from your computer. The error you are getting may be caused if the WerFault process is overloaded because of errors caused by another program or the Werfault process itself is corrupted due to a security threat.

Method 1: Run SFC scan

https://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833?wa=wsignin1.0

Method 2: Memory Diagnostic tool

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Diagnosing-memory-problems-on-your-computer

Method 3: Clean boot

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

Method 4: If none of the above steps helps, you can temporarily disable the WerFault service to stop getting these errors. Refer to these steps:

a) Press Windows key +R Key, type “services.msc”.

b) In the services window, locate the “Windows Error Reporting” system.

c) Right click on the service and select properties.

d) In startup type, change from “Manual” to “Disabled” and click OK

I hope this will help you in getting your issues resolved. Do let us know about the status of the issue.

We'll try to help you further.
