Serial COM ports missing after sysprep

Hello,

I am using Win7 Professional x64 on a PICOe-HM650 mainboard which has 3 serial ports. After windows installation I can see all 3 COM ports and a LPT port in device manager and everything works fine.

But after I execute sysprep (generalize) and reboot there are no ports at all in device manager and the serial ports do not work any more. How can I reinstall them?

I already found one solution: When I set the sysprep properties PersistAllDeviceInstalls and DoNotCleanUpNonPresentDevices to 1 the COM ports do not disappear during sysprep execution. But this does not help me a lot because I have to reinstall windows again on many machines.

I already tried to update the drivers, to activate serial ports in Bios and to install COM ports manually but did no have any success.

What else can I do?

Johann
