Importing KML into Windows 8.1 Maps prrogram.

I have exported my locations from Google Maps to import them into Microsoft Maps program

I see how to do that to www.bing.com\maps but it won't sync to my Nokia or Surface Maps program

'I know that Windows 8 Maps app will sync with the Maps program on my Lumina so I looked around both applications (phone and computer) but cannot find a way to import the KML file or bulk import so I can have all my favorites on my Microsoft products.

I browsed to the .kml file and tried to open it - hoping that Windows would know what to do with it, but alas, that failed too

How can I do this? There HAS to be a way to bulk transfer favorites into Maps!! There really has to be!

    Hi Simard,

Unfortunately there's no way to import locations into the Windows 8.1 Maps app through KML files or other bulk mechanisms. We understand that it is important to you to have a way to get all your locations into the app in a quick way so that they can be available everywhere so I'll pass this feedback to the team.

I did as suggested posting https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/c70656be-2e99-4111-ad1c-dac29b151ef7/importing-kml-or-any-formatted-file-into-windows-phone-or-windows-81-maps?forum=winphonegeneral but have seen no response to the question...

is there another way to get some direction here? I would have expected a little bit of an answer from these forums

thank you - I will do that!

can I ask why this is not the correct forum to post? It seemed to be what made sense when I used the pul down menus to find where to ask.. Technet was never even a consideration.
