Monitoring resources at scale

Hi,

I am trying to figure out the best way to monitor our environment at scale, I have been looking at Azure monitor metric alerts and was hoping I could use these, but at the moment I can only see metrics for Virtual Machines, is this supposed to be the case or should I be able to see metrics from all resource types?

These metrics are available in log analytics and I can run a custom query on them. At the moment we are using log alerts, but I would prefer to use metric alerts if this is possible.

I would also prefer to use log analytics for these alerts rather than having to setup a metric alert for each resource or resource type in a subscription.

Is this possible at the moment?

Thanks

    Hi,
Only a few resources support creating one metric alert per subscription per location, so it applies to multiple resources with same location within the subscription. More here. For all other resources you need to create metric alert rule per resource. Your best option is to continue using Log Analytics alerts.
