Hi

I am running windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. My windows update has not been working for a while +- a year and now that I am trying to upgrade to windows 10 I need to get it sorted. (If there is a way I can avoid this please say so as well)

The error that it states is 8024402C which I found online means: WU_E_PT_WINHTTP_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED.

I have run the trouble shooter which comes back with the following error 0x8024402C (2015-08-22-T-11_31_09P). My internet connection has never been a problem in any other way.

I had avast anti-virus; I have since uninstalled it. My internet is provided via a wifi-modem from Telkom (no landline connection - a sim card is loaded with data which is in the modem). The signal is pretty good and it runs at 42 Mbps (if I remember correctly).

Please advise

Thanks
