I upgraded my ASUS K52F Notebook to Windows 10 on July 29, 2015. I fought with Microsoft for 7 Months for a FIX because of Online Issues with Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge. No one at Microsoft Tech Support could find a FIX for my issues on Windows 10. So, I bought a New Western Digital 500GB Black Hard Drive. I removed my Hitachi 500GB Hard Drive with Windows 10 and installed my new unallocated Hard Drive in my Notebook. I dug out my Windows 7 Home Premium OEM Operating System Disks that came with my Notebook when I bought it. I Restored my Notebook I'm using now, back to Win 7. After Restoring Back to Win 7, I went to Windows Update and tried to Check for Updates for the First Time. I had a RED X and 2 Error Codes (0xc8000247 & 0xc8000222), after searching the Web for a FIX, I found 3 FIXES.

1st FIX Tried: I had to Install (NetFramework V4.5) for Windows Update and Here is the Link where I found the Download: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30653 Download, Install, Restart.

2nd FIX Tried: I had to Install (Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver) for my New 500GB Hard Drive. Here is the Link where I got it: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/55005/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST- Download, Install, Restart.

3rd FIX Tried: This FIX, which I took a Picture of with my Phone because I didn't have my Printer Software loaded so I could Print it out actually Fixed my Windows Update Not Responding Issue, After Restarting wuauserv file in CMD Command, I went to Windows Update, Clicked Check for Updates and after a few minutes Windows Update Started Listing Updates to Choose From, Worked Great after Restarting Windows Update Program. NOTE I did Hard Restart my Cable Modem by unplugging the power cord for about 2 minutes and then rebooted my Cable Modem before doing this 3rd Fix.

When you Type: net stop wuauserv ( net (spacebar) Stop (spacebar) wuauserv

**When you Type: ren c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution softwaredistribution.old (**ren (spacebar) c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution(spacebar) softwaredistribution.old

**When you Type: net start wuauserv (**net(spacebar) start(spacebar) wuauserv

NOTE: It confused me too on my first try, but I quickly figured it out after doing the FIX twice in a row and it worked for me.

Now my Updates are coming in Left and Right, Last Night I had 1 Update which was the Windows Installer), then 96 Updates before bed. This morning I had 286 Updates to install, doing them now.

All I can say is what I replied here, this worked for me and I thought I'd Share my Experience with this Fix to others, I hope it work's for you as it did for me. Thanks! GTINS
