    Hi,

Thanks for posting your query to Microsoft forum. I will certainly help you with this.

I understand you are facing issues while installing Windows updates, this issue might occur due to several reasons such as the security software you may have installed on the computer, any program or application running on the computer at the back ground.

    Method 1: Refer the articles

**Step 1:**Run the Windows Update Automated troubleshooter.

    Fix Microsoft Windows Update Issues

**Step 2:**Refer to the link and follow the troubleshooting methods to resolve the issue:

You may also refer: **Troubleshoot problems with installing updates**

Note: Any data files that are infected may only be cleaned by deleting the file entirely, which means there is a potential for data loss.

    Method 2: Perform SFC scan

I would suggest you to perform SFC scan and check if that helps. The sfc/scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions. It is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files.

Refer the link:  Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files

Please reply us with these information and the current status of your computer we will be happy to assist you further.
