Error message: "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have permission to accesss the item", while accessing the link or attachments in Live Mail

Every time I attempt to click on a link or attachment in my email (live mail). I get the following message. "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have permission to accesss the item"

I've tried everything. Any ideas? Thanks

    Please provide us the following information, to assist you further.

    • Which version of Windows Live Mail are you using?

    There might be corrupted files in Windows Live Mail. Please follow the below steps to repair the Windows Live Mail:

    1. In the folder pane, locate C:\Program Files\Windows Live**Installer**there is a repair utility. 

    2. Run wlarp.exe file.

    1. Click **Repair all Windows Live program.**4. Follow the on-screen instructions to repair Windows Live program.

    Not particular to any specific email. Problem with all links/attachments in all mail

    Not particular with Live Mail

    Yes, my workaround is to save the attachment or copy shortcut to link and open separately.Then no problem at all. Thanks

    2. Is this issue confined only in the Windows Live Mail?
