What is MPGEAR.DLL? Is it the same as mpengine.dll? What does it do, and can I safely delete it? Please give a simple explanation without computer terminology (it scares me away) Thanks

What is MPGEAR.DLL? Is it the same as mpengine.dll?

Why do you ask? (No, it's not the same as mpengine.dll.)

When (exact date, preferably) did you upgrade (I assume) to Win10?

Is Windows Defender working properly as far as you know or...?

Is it the same computer (NOT THE SAME PROBLEM!) as in this other recent thread of yours? => http://answers.microsoft.com/thread/2924696b-2880-4589-80ce-9526a550389e

I just didn't know what [MPGEAR.DLL] was and was afraid to delete it.

Remember the First Rule of Computers: If it ain't broke, don't fix it! [Don't delete it.]

Note: Disk Cleanup will not delete anything less than 24-hours-old (e.g., C:\Windows\temp*mpgear.dll*).

I upgraded to windows 1- when my windows 7 crashed in July. I don't seem to be having any problems.. this just showed up when I was running disk cleanup and trying to get rid of temporary internet files. I just didn't know what it was and was afraid to delete it. Thanks for your help!
