Access denied when try to access shared folder

In my office we do not have AD server, so we do not have a centralized authentication method. Everyone is in the WORKGROUP, and we also have a Home group...not sure who/why create a Home group in the office.

The problem we are having now is that nobody can enable the share folder feature to anybody...I have tried to create a share folder and give Everyone Read permission to the folder. But when other people tries to access my share folder, they got authentication denied error.

Since they got access denied, I assume the firewall is not an issue here.

The suggestion from Dena B is not helpful in my case. But I have found out the problem.

I turned off the "password protection" in the "advanced network sharing"/"all network" section, and all my devices can access my share folder correctly.
