Hi Microsoft,

Today I transferred (cut and paste) files from an SD card to my computer. The SD card had 2 folders inside. When I checked the other folder, it had the same content as the other folder I previously transferred. To make sure I didn't miss anything, I cut the files and moved and replaced it to the folder I made on my computer. Once done, the folder on my computer was empty so as the folders on my SD card. I tried restoring the previous version of the folders but there were no other versions available.

Please help. I really need those files and I don't have other back ups.

Not likely that the data is retrievable.  Suggestion:

Do not cut from an external media.  Copy.  Use the right-button on your mouse to give you a choice.

After, you copy to your computer and verify what you got is what you wanted, then go back to the external media and delete.

The folders on the SD card were put there by the device it was in.  The data may have been corrupted and/or the SD card may be failing.  SD cards are inexpensive.  Replace it.  The device that it was in may have a problem, but more likely the root problem is the SD card.
