Hello people of the Internet. About a month ago I have purchased a new PC and I have installed windows 8.1 on it. Since I am an avid gamer, I have installed some games to play on my new rig. But.. for about 2 weeks or so, with some games including LoL and BF4, I get a stupid  BEX error  that does not let me play the game anymore. I have found a temporal solution that includes signing out of my profile then logging back in and immediately start the respective program. Most of the times it works but it seems too unconvenient. This is the error message I get for BF4. Any tips to solve it out please?

    Hello,

Thanks for posting your query to Microsoft forum. I will certainly help you with this.

This be caused by several factors such as default driver, incompatible applications, hardware defect or memory issue. To resolve this kind of issue, I would like to propose the following suggestions.

    Method 1: Perform Clean Boot.

Launch the game in clean boot.

Placing your system in Clean Boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue. You need to follow the steps from the article mentioned below to perform a Clean Boot.

How to perform a “clean boot” in Windows, please follow the steps in the link provided below.

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135/en-us

Note: Refer "How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting" to reset the computer to start as normal after troubleshooting.

If the issue still persists, follow method 2.

Method 2: Update your current video/display driver.

Incompatible or not properly installed graphics card drivers are the most common cause of this issue, let’s update the graphics card driver and check if that solves the problem.

Follow the steps below to update the graphics card drivers.

    1. Press Windows Key + X key on the keyboard
    2. Select device manager.
    3. Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
    4. Click Driver and click disable (Disable the selected device).
    5. Click on Ok.
    6. Restart the computer.

Please post back with the results. We will be glad to assist you further.
