Does MSN Explorer work with Windows 10?

I have a paid subscription for MSN Premium service that uses MSN Explorer (version 11.50. etc) and it runs on my desktop PC with Windows 7 pro.  I have a limited time offer to upgrade to Windows 10 for free but I'm concerned that MSN Premium will not run or maybe will have significant issues with Windows 10.  In particular, I have heard that Windows 10 has a new browser (Edge) and no longer uses Internet Explorer.  The central feature of MSN Premium service is MSN Explorer which is a customized version of Internet Explorer.

I want to upgrade to Windows 10, but I also want to keep the  MSN Premium service, especially as I have already paid a year ahead.  Does anyone know if MSN Premium subscriptions that use MSN Explorer will continue to function NORMALLY on Windows 10?

    That's exactly right Smittychat.

the answer to the question posed in this thread is "No, MSN Premium does not work with Windows 10".  Beyond this, it would be nice to know if Microsoft plans to correct all reported problems or only some - and when.

Aparently it is beyond the mission of this community to pry this info out of Microsoft.  Too bad, because there's a lot of wheel-spinning going on here that is wasting everyone's time.

MSN Premium members are being put through a ringer and Microsoft is surely going to lose many MSN Premium subscriptions.  Everyone loses

    Smittychat,

According to Jason Mathew of answers.msn.com, the problems are with Windows 10 and not with MSN Premium.   there's nothing they can do for the user who wrote in to them other than to escalate the urgency to the Windows folks.Jason wrote in a reply to a user who complained about the problems we have been discussing that all he can do is escalate the urgency to the Windows folks.

So, is Windows 10 something we can address here?  My questions are the same as before.  Does Microsoft have a list of known problems with MSN Premium running on Windows 10, do they plan to fix them, and when do they expect all known problems of this kind to be fixed?

Can we get someone from Microsoft to write a reply to the community?

Thanks for the quick reply, Smittychat.  From my vantage point I cannot tell whether the issues (and the ultimate fixes) belong to MSN Premium service or to Windows 10.  You seem pretty sure these are not Windows 10 problems, right?  Even though MSN Premium has been around for all of this century and Windows 10 is new last month.  Even though many MSN Premium users had no problems until they upgraded to Windows 10.

I didn't realize I have posted into the land of "not my job" and I hope you will excuse me for being here.  But are you sure there are no Microsoft people working right now on Windows 10 to fix the problems people are reporting with MSN Premium Service since they upgraded?

As I have said before, I want to know if Microsoft has identified and plans to fix the problems we have been discussing.  I also want to know the timetable.

It may be helpful to all who post here if you can include in your reply a list Microsoft products that are off-limits for the "community" to bring up on this board.

Thank you, Niranjan.  Your reply was helpful in that it helps me to refocus my question.  My concern is about MSN Premium service which is a subscription I have paid for and which I have heard may have issues with Windows 10.  At least, there are lots of community comments and questions that have emerged since July, when people with MSN Premium subscriptions began upgrading to Windows 10.  The problems people are reporting are that MSN Premium crashes frequently (the browser crashes, MSN Explorer, which is either a customized Windows Explorer or software that sits between the user and a native Internet Explorer that runs behind it - I don't know which).  In some cases these users report their email service (provided as part of MSN Premium) is impaired to the point they can no longer use it.

These are problem reports from frustrated users with horror stories about customer support.  It may be that the vast majority of subscribers have no problems whatsoever but it's hard to know what the percentage of subscribers having these issues actually is just by reading the community posts.  I'm trying to get Microsoft to tell us if there are issues with MSN Premium service when it runs on Windows 10 and if there are, what they are planning to do about it and when.  What are the known issues and what is the schedule for repairing them?  I want to upgrade my Windows 7 desktop PC for free but not if my subscription service will be seriously impacted.  I can wait until the known issues are fixed but I need this information from Microsoft about their MSN Service.

Thanks again for your comments about Internet Explorer but this was not exactly my concern.

    Hi Jim,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

Internet Explorer 11 still exist in Windows 10 as well.

You can start Internet Explorer by:

Press Windows key + R, type iexplorer and press OK. You can then pin it to either Taskbar or Start.

    • What is the version of Internet Explorer that you are using currently?

If you are using Internet Explorer 11 currently, it will sure work in Windows 10 as well since Windows 10 has Internet Explorer 11.

Hope this information is helpful. Please feel free to reply in case you face any other issues with Windows in future.
