I have a requirement to set up Shared Self hosted integration runtime. Would like to understand are there any limitations of using shared IRs. Do we have any challenge with respect to CICD. Both the data factories are in same resource group.

Hello anonymous user and welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

There is a concern when using linked/shared Self Hosted Integration Runtimes (SHIR) with CICD.

The main one is how the "owning" factory defines the SHIR differently from the "linked" factory defines the SHIR. This difference causes problems if the owning factory is one of the evironments.

The solution is to have a separate factory purely for "owning" the SHIR. Then all your environments use the same "linked" type of SHIR.
