I moved a text document to a hard drive with all my passwords on it. the passwords are long and random so I can t remember them. after factory resting my computer I plugged in my drive but when I try to open it, it says "the system cannot find the path specified" then opens the document as a normal empty text file. I can t send something to my email because the password on that was also on there. I had to create a new email to make this post. when I look at it's properties it gives me a "Target:" and a "Start in:" both leading through the same files which doesn't exist after the reset. The only other information I can give is the "Target type" is a Text Document, the "Target location" is in tools, the "Shortcut key" is none, the "Run" is Normal window, and when I click on "General" or "Details" it gives me the error message "The folder specified in the Start In box is not valid. Make sure that the folder exists and that the path is correct"

    Hi Taco,

As per the description, I understand that you are getting an error **“****the system cannot find the path specified”**while plugging in a hard drive after factory reset on your Windows 8 machine. I will certainly help you in getting this issue fixed.

I would appreciate if you could help me with more information:

Did you try to perform the same task on a different computer/machine using the same hard drive?

If no, I would suggest you to try performing the same task on a different computer and check if that works or not.

Hope this information is helpful. Please write back to us if you need any further assistance, we'll be glad to assist you.
