Dear All,

I have a shared mail box and a user account have the same onmicrosoft.com  mail alias (which belongs to the shared mailbox) and would like to remove it from the user account and put one that reflects the user account name.

Our Office 365 environment is hybrid having AD, ADFS, FIM on-premise.

Any help is much appreciated.

Regards,

Leopold

Hi Leopold,

The email alias within this domain @xxx.onmicrosoft.com is not synced by Directory Synchronization service. Moreover, the user is synced with on-premise AD, and we cannot directly remove or add email alias.

We need to temporarily disable/deactivate Directory sync, remove the alias and add a new alias. Then, please enable directory sync again.

Thanks,

Young
