I've got an old Farfisa TK628 that won't work on Win 8.1 or Win 10, I already installed windows updates that fix this kind of issues with no results.

It says Invalid Configuration Descriptor, on 2.0 and 3.0 ports same thing.

USB\VID_0000&PID_0006\5&297258BB&0&8

The only drivers available are these:

These are 2 drivers setup, when you open they do not crash but the device is not installed correctly and gives the same error as before

Tried with different usb cables same problem, it is a driver stack problem because it only happens after win 8 it worked before, if there was a way to make skipBOSdescriptor on a specific USB port it would be useful, i cannot locate the vendor id or device id because the descriptor is failing and i cannot add the registry key because i haven't got that info

    Hi,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.

    1. What is the make and model of the computer?
    2. Device driver notified the operating system that the device failed. This circumstance can occur if the device hardware fails or if the device driver fails.

Ensure that you have installed available Windows updates including Optional updates. I would also suggest you to install latest chipset drivers and check.

Uninstall the USB drivers, restart the computer and check.

    a. Press Windows and X keys together

    b. Select “Device Manager”.

    c. Locate and expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers.

    d. Right-click on the “USB root hub " and click on “uninstall”.

    e. Restart the computer once the driver uninstalls.

    You can also try this:

    a. Go to Device Manager

    b. Right Click on the USB root hub & Select Update Driver Software.

c Select browse my computer for a driver software

    d. Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer

    e. Select the driver option according your device model and install

    You can also refer to:

Code 43: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc725873(v=WS.10).aspx

Hope this information is helpful. Please do let us know if you need further assistance, we’ll be glad to assist you.
