Phased Deployment Deferral

According to this doc,
****Conditions for beginning second phase of deployment after success of the first phase****
Automatically begin this phase after a deferral period (in days): Choose the number of days to wait before beginning the second phase after the success of the first. By default, this value is one day.
How about phase 3 & 4 ? Is the deferral still based on # 1 or is it sequential, or 3 is based on 2 and 4 is based on 3?

Based on my experience, every phase is based on the success of the previous phase, so phase 3 is based on phase 2, and phase 4 is based on phase 3. For the manually configured multiple phases, we should correctly configure below two settings:

1. Criteria for success of the previous phase
2. Conditions for beginning this phase of deployment after success of the previous phase
