Windows Essentials fails to install with error code xxx643

Anonymous

Windows 8.1

Installation ends failing with the error code xxx643.

Suggestion is... Firewall must be turned on (it is already On)...

Tried running Fix it, it kind of "fixed"  - but no changes.

Any ideas?

Kind regards

Dalius

    1.) Perform Windows update

Can't do this because most of updates fail with error code 800703F1.

Update troubleshooting finds some problems, fixes them, but updates fail exactly same way again. Or sticks at "downloading 0%" forever:-(

2.) Uninstall Windows Live Essentials programs

    Did that.

    3. Browse your computer to C:\Program Files then delete the Windows Live folder

    Did that.

4.) Temporarily disable 3rd party firewall programs

    No 3rd party firewall programs

5.) Reset browser to factory settings (using IE for minimising 3rd parties impact)

    Yes

6.) Download and install Windows Live Essentials

    Yes. Fails exactly same way.

    Whats next?

    Kind regards,

    Dalius

    1. Which version of Windows Essential are you trying to install? - latest (2012, from the link you are providing)
    2. What is the exact error message that you receive? Couldn't install program... it looks like another program is preventing the installer from workding. Error 0x80070643, Source: Watson x64
    3. Did you make any changes prior to the issue? It depends what you would assume "change". Selected what to install (actually deselected Messenger, Writer, Mail - because Photo gallery and Movie Maker is needed only).

    Cheers,

    D.
