Windows Update "Installed Updates" are missing, auto update is turned on.

Subject says it all ...

specifically, in this case, why isn't update KB2962490 in my "Installed Updates" and why can't I find a link to download the missed update thru the Windows Downloads link?

I've run the WU connection T/S and it's 'happy', so what's the issue?

yes, it is ... and I did use the McAfee CPRT but it Didn't remove everything (as Most never do, I believe...)

but I'm just not comfortable enough with this 8.1 registry (or any other for that matter) to try & pick apart the stinking thing to find the leftovers.

    Hello John,

    Thank you for your response.

    I appreciate your time.

I would suggest you to reset Windows update components and check.

Is it the same Dell Inspiron computer - not necessarily the same problem - as in this previous thread of yours? => http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/protect/forum/protect_defender-protect_start/windows-defender-vs-mcafee-livesafe-on-our-new-pc/b7fd624f-7782-4397-a1b5-4d6fad27f261

Have you ever run the McAfee Consumer Products Removal Tool and/or the Norton Removal Tool?

As I said, I Ran the windows T/S and no issues were found. This has been occurring sporadically since I bought this PC new in 2014 from the MS store... it 'says' it's installing the updates but when I check the Installed Updates afterwards, some are NOT there... and No*, I cannot download them manually from the download link at "support" (much less even Find them most of the time!).

After checking for updates today (6/16/15) 2 of 3 updates I have not downloaded yet, on purpose, were Not listed as available anymore either, ones that Were available at the 1st of the month & as late as last week... but not Now.

      Se la vie .....................
