I received a call today from 212-777-8394 with the name K Bernstein on caller ID. A man with an Indian accent said that he represents Microsoft and works for Microsoft. As with many others, he said my computer was infected with a virus that needs to be removed and he would tell me how. I stopped him before he gave me any instructions and said I would call back and verify. He said his name is Harry Wilson and to call 832-968-6951. He said if I didn't do it he was going to take my computer down.
I hung up and called Microsoft instead to report this scam. They directed me here.
The part that amazes me is that "Harry" had the nerve to call me back and yell at me and continue to threaten me.
This is out of control. Something must be done about this. Is there anything that can be done as Microsoft customers are now being threatened, harassed and yelled at.
