I have Win 7 64 bit, keep getting error 80070002 when trying to run updates. I've tried running the WuReset for Windows 7 and when I right click on the file it doesn't allow me to run as administrator, it doesn't give me the option. This is a personal computer and I'm the only user. Can anyone help?

So, is there no solution to this problem. I'm assuming update is not finding files to download and is giving me errors? I know there are files that tried to install but they failed. Since I reset update it's not showing anything in my history. Seems this just another way that Microsoft is trying to get me to download 10 and I simply don't want to.

Well you should run it up without admin privileges and post back an Image for further analysis.

Errors that end in 0002 are file not found and that is what MS hints at in their solution:

On a side note, errors that end in 0003 are path not found, errors that end in 0005 are rights/permission errors.

To help refresh your memory about those three kinds of errors think back to the good old days of DOS:

Of the following error codes, only error codes 1-12 are
returned in AX upon exit from interrupt 21 or 24; The rest
are obtained by issuing the "get extended error" function
    call; see INT 21,59

    01 Invalid function number
    02 File not found
    03 Path not found
04 Too many open files (no handles left)
    05 Access denied

I actually tried those fixes yesterday and they didn't work. What kind of connection issue is this? I'm not connecting to the Microsoft update service?

80070002 is a connection related problem and I don't think it will correct that.

Your error code is listed here and give try to these fixes:
