Original Title: windows live mail error message.

windows 8.1: Some emails, not all, I receive an Error message "a problem occurred while trying to oen this mail".  Has just begun last few days.  As I said, I can open most messages.  And, the messages are not from the same sender.  Seems random.

I am a little reluctant to try MS fix, pasting lines into registry.  Any suggestions?

this doesn't work either.  when I go to windows live, following abov instructions, I only have a  "mail" icon.  clking on this, I get "wlmime64. " Nothing I do brings up a "repair" option; only "Uninstall".  You sure 8.1 should have this option?

Win 8.1: there is no "Repair all Windows essential programs" option.  Only "Uninstall".  Tip says to go to WindowsEssentials.com to download new.  Will this wipe out my email addresses, etc?  If so, I do not wish to do this.
